2 Firefighters Injured Battling Bridgeport Blaze: FD

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Two firefighters suffered minor injuries Sunday while battling a fire at 317 Mountain Grove Ave. in Bridgeport, according to authorities.

The fire was reported at about 5:30 p.m., and firefighters saw smoke billowing out of the building upon arrival.

"After further investigation, it turned out to be a van on fire in the old Bodine Building," said Tiadora Josef, the city's Director of Public Information.

An additional ladder truck and engine company were called to the scene, and the fire was declared under control in 30 minutes.

The blaze is under investigation by the Fire Marshals Office.
