2 Hospitalized After Pair Of Weekend Shootings In Bridgeport: Police
The shootings occurred about an hour apart, according to authorities.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Two local men were hospitalized in stable condition after the two were shot during separate incidents in Bridgeport over the weekend, according to police.
The first shooting occurred around 11 p.m. on Saturday, injuring a 38-year-old Bridgeport man from the city's "Hollow" neighborhood. Police did not receive a ShotSpotter alert about the shoot, but investigators believe it occurred inside the lobby of Building 5 of the Charles F. Greene Homes Housing Community.
Bridgeport police detectives are investigating the shooting, and urge anyone with any information about the incident to contact the case officer, Det. Aaron Rivera, at 203-581-5179.

The second shooting occurred about an hour later in the 100 block of East Avenue, according to Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran.
Police were notified of the incident via a ShotSpotter activation of "fully automatic gunfire," Gilleran said.

"At approximately 12:25 am, a victim presented at an area hospital, suffering from gunshot wounds to the abdomen," Gilleran said in a statement about the 33-year-old Bridgeport victim. "The victim was transported to the hospital via private vehicle and was able to walk himself into the emergency department."
Officers found numerous shell casings at the scene, with no additional victims.
The Bridgeport Police Department is also asking for the public's help in solving this shooting, and urge anyone with information to contact the case officer, Det. John Knapp, at 203-581-5251.
