4 Arrested On Charges Of Illegal Marijuana Sales In Bridgeport
Authorities said they found marijuana during a raid this week of the Moon Rock and Roll smoke shop on Main Street.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — The owner and three employees of the Moon Rock and Roll smoke shop in Bridgeport were arrested this week, after a raid of the Main Street store yielded more than 100 pounds of vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana, according to Bridgeport police.
During the raid, members of the department's Tactical Narcotics Team saw more than 75 percent "of all visible products sold [in the shop] were some form of marijuana," said Capt. Lonnie Blackwell, M.S., in a statement.
In addition to the vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana, police also confiscated "approximately 1,700 pre-rolled joints, and hundreds of wax, pens, and edibles." The Tactical Narcotics Team also seized more than $4,700 in cash and various sales equipment.

Arrested were the store's owner, Wenke Chen of Corona, New York, and three employees: Avery Campbell and Dabnus Ulmer, both of Bridgeport, and Tatiana Diaz of Stratford.
Chen was charged with operating a marijuana dispensary without a license, and possession with the intent to sell 1 kilogram or more of marijuana. He was released after posting bond on bail of $10,000, and is scheduled to appear in court on March 27.

The three employees were charged with illegal sale of marijuana, and conspiracy to sell a controlled substance without a license. They were released after posting bond on bail of $1,000 each, and are scheduled to appear in court on March 28.
