BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport police said Monday that a city man has been arrested in connection with a 2025 homicide at the Greene Homes housing complex.
William Davis, 49, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and second-degree assault of an elderly person in the death of Kevin McKinnon, 61, of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Authorities said the incident occurred on Sept. 10, 2025.
McKinnon was found dead inside an apartment in Building 2 of Greene Homes on the night of Sept. 12, after family and friends went to check on him when they had not heard from him for more than two days.
According to investigators, Davis and another man assaulted McKinnon in a courtyard outside the building on Sept. 10. Police said the attack was captured on video, which also showed McKinnon entering the apartment afterward and not leaving.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that McKinnon’s death resulted from injuries sustained in the assault and ruled it a homicide.
Police said Davis turned himself in at Bridgeport Police Headquarters early Monday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was scheduled to appear in court later that day. His bond was set at $250,000.
Authorities said a second suspect has not yet been identified. Anyone with information is asked to contact homicide Detective Jeffrey Holtz at 203-581-5293.
Police said the arrest followed a months-long investigation by the Bridgeport Police Homicide Unit, with assistance from the Connecticut State Laboratory and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
