BRIDGEPORT, CT — The Bridgeport Police Department will host a private screening of the film "Us vs Them" on June 11 at the Bijou Theatre in Bridgeport.
The screening is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the theater, located at 275 Fairfield Ave.
According to the film's producers, "Us vs Them" examines relationships among law enforcement, the criminal justice system and communities through personal accounts and commentary from police officers and people who have experienced incarceration.
The producers described the film as follows:
"Us vs Them" unfolds as a tightly woven tapestry of personal testimonies, expert reflections, and evocative visuals. At its heart is a dual lens the seasoned perspective of its creator and other veteran officers who have witnessed the inner workings, the successes, and the failings of the system and those with lived experience of incarceration. These are not just voices from the margins, but narrators of their own stories, and, crucially, of a silent movement poised to change who becomes a police officer and why.
A question-and-answer session with the film's creators, director and cast is scheduled to follow the screening.
Those wishing to attend must RSVP using the QR Code below by May 30. Seating is limited.
