BRIDGEPORT, CT — At least 48 rounds of gunfire were detected Sunday afternoon in the area of Stratford and Carroll avenues in Bridgeport, prompting an immediate investigation, according to authorities.
The gunfire was detected at about 5:10 p.m. by a ShotSpotter activation in the area. ShotSpotter is a gunfire detection system.
Additional details were not disclosed. As of Sunday night, Bridgeport police had not received reports of any victims in connection with the gunfire.
The area was blanketed by officers during the investigation, which is ongoing.
