BRIDGEPORT, CT — Gov. Ned Lamont's campaign announced it will open several campaign headquarters across Connecticut, including one in Bridgeport, as it expands its statewide organizing operation ahead of the Aug. 11 Democratic primary.
According to the campaign, the new offices will serve as bases for field staff, volunteers, phone bankers and canvassers during the final weeks before primary day.
Lamont is facing a primary challenge for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination from state Rep. Joshua Elliot.
"This campaign is all about Connecticut–every town, every neighborhood, every family–and how we're working hard to build a better future for everyone," Lamont said in a statement. "We're opening field offices because democracy works best when people connect face to face. We'll be working day and night to reach out to voters to listen to their concerns and share our vision for a stronger, safer, more affordable Connecticut together. The momentum is real, and it's growing every day. If you believe in where we're headed, come be a part of it. Let's keep moving Connecticut forward."

The campaign said it hosts weekly phone banks and canvassing events at its offices and that volunteers, phone bankers and canvassers are welcome to participate. Those interested can sign up through the campaign's website.
According to the campaign, the headquarters expansion is part of its effort to increase voter outreach and turnout among Democratic primary voters across Connecticut before the Aug. 11 primary.
