• Judge rejects Bridgeport councilwoman's bid to overturn voter-approved charter changes (ctpost.com) — A state judge has rejected Bridgeport Councilwoman Maria Pereira's lawsuit seeking to overturn last fall's voter-approved overhaul of the city charter, leaving the new rules in place. While the charter's stronger ethics provisions remain delayed by council inaction on appointments, city officials say the ruling validates the process, and Pereira hints she may sue again if the new language is ever used against her personally.
• Bridgeport police seeking help identifying person of interest in homicide (wfsb.com) — Bridgeport police are asking residents for help identifying a man considered a person of interest in the August 9 fatal shooting of 46‑year‑old Johnny Nesmith at the P.T. Barnum housing complex. Investigators want witnesses and anyone with cell phone video to contact the Homicide Unit or email Detective Jeffrey Holtz to help piece together what happened.
