BRIDGEPORT, CT — The Bridgeport Police Hispanic Society will hold its second annual Wheels & Shields Car & Bike Show on Saturday, Sept. 5, in partnership with Foolproof Brewing Company.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Foolproof Brewery, 785 Union Ave. in Bridgeport. Admission is free for spectators, while car and bike entry costs $20.
The show will feature cars and motorcycles, a DJ, live music, a pig roast and other food, a 50/50 raffle, Bridgeport Police Hispanic Society merchandise and Touch-a-Truck and Touch-a-Car vehicles for children. Local businesses and community organizations also are expected to participate.
Proceeds from the event will support the society's efforts to establish the first Bridgeport Police History Museum. According to the organization, the proposed museum would preserve the history of people who have served in the Bridgeport Police Department and provide a place to learn about the department's role in the city.
The Bridgeport Police Hispanic Society, founded in 1985, organizes events and initiatives focused on community engagement and relationships between law enforcement and Bridgeport residents.
The society is seeking sponsors for Saturday's event and is offering free booth space to businesses and community organizations that want to participate.
