BRIDGEPORT, CT — A joint investigation by Bridgeport and Stamford police led to the arrest of a 30-year-old parolee on multiple gun and drug charges Wednesday, authorities said.
Joseph Humphrey, of Stamford, was arrested after task force officers executed a search warrant at his Stamford apartment, with assistance from emergency services units from both police departments.
During the search, police seized an illegal firearm, ammunition and drugs packaged for sale, according to authorities.
"Our Task Force Officers, Patrol Officers, and Detectives are regularly taking dangerous individuals off the streets," Bridgeport Police Chief Roderick Porter said in a statement. "I am proud, and I know our citizens are as well."
Humphrey, who has ties to both Bridgeport and Stamford, faces eight charges:
Bond for Humphrey was set at $250,000. He was detained by the Connecticut State Department of Parole and is expected to be returned to the custody of the Department of Correction.
He is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court Nov. 18.
