Armed Suspect Chased And Caught In Bridgeport: Police
A handgun was found on the suspect after the Sunday afternoon foot chase, according to Bridgeport police.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 34-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on weapons and related charges Sunday after he was found to be in possession of a firearm and magazine following a foot chase, according to Bridgeport police.
The incident began at about 3:45 p.m. near Park and Wood avenues, when a patrol officer saw a vehicle speed off from the area.
"Officer pursued to conduct a motor vehicle stop in the area of Washington Terrace," wrote Scott Appleby, the city's Director of Emergency Management, in a statement. "While the female operator stopped the vehicle, a male party, later identified as Marques Lindsay 34yoa of Bridgeport, fled the backseat of the vehicle and proceeded to run from the incident while holding his waistline."

Believing Lindsay might have a weapon, officers pursued him on foot, and upon capturing him, they found the gun in his possession.

- Illegal possession of a large capacity magazine
- Interfering with an officer/resisting arrest
- Criminal possession of a firearm
- Negligent storage of a firearm
- Carrying a pistol without a permit
- Illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle
Lindsay was held in lieu of bail of $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
