Arrest Made In Shooting At Charles F. Greene Homes In Bridgeport: PD
The shooting occurred on Feb. 6, according to Bridgeport police.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 20-year-old Bloomfield man was arrested on weapons and assault charges last week in connection with a shooting at the Charles F. Greene Homes housing complex in Bridgeport, according to police.
No injuries were reported in the Feb. 6 incident, in which multiple gunshots were fired at about 3:15 p.m. Police were notified of the shooting by the ShotSpotter gunshot detection system.
"Patrol Officers quickly responded to the area of building 3 and came upon evidence indicating there were at least three different shooters," wrote Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran in a statement. "Fortunately, no children or adults were struck by gunfire during this incident. The Detective Bureau responded and took charge of the investigation. As a result of the combined efforts by Bridgeport police officers and detectives, a suspect vehicle used during the crime was identified. A police broadcast, with the vehicle’s description, was sent to local and state law enforcement officers working in the Fairfield County area."

The next day, officers working under the direction of Lt. Trevor Niestemski and Sgt. Michael Paoletti located the suspect vehicle, which was occupied at the time, at Wentfield Park on Bridgeport's West Side.
Two semiautomatic pistols were recovered during a search of the vehicle, and one of the occupants, Trevor Markell McCormick, was arrested.

McCormick was charged with the following:
- Illegal discharge of a firearm
- Reckless endangerment in the 1st degree
- Carrying a pistol without a permit
- Illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine
- Criminal attempt at assault in the 1st degree
He is being held in lieu of bail of $100,000, and is scheduled to appear in court on March 7.
The investigation continues, and police ask that anyone with information about the crime contact the case officer, Det. Jose Bahr, at 203-581-5217.
