Bank Robber Carjacked Lyft Vehicle, Crashed: Bridgeport Police
Two schools were placed in a lock-in/lock-out mode while police investigated the incident, according to officials.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A bank robbery suspect carjacked a Lyft’s driver’s vehicle and crashed, leading to two schools being placed in a lock-in/ lock-out mode Tuesday in Bridgeport, according to police.
Police received several calls around 10:30 a.m. regarding a possible robbery at the Webster Bank on Main Street.
The suspect reportedly left the bank and carjacked a Lyft vehicle and then caused an accident on Thorme Street, according to police.

Both Madison and Blackham schools were placed in a lock-in/ lock-out while police investigated. School resource officers were at the scene at both schools, according to police.
There was no immediate word of any arrests made in connection with the incident.
