Bridgeport Cops Raided Wrong Home, Lawsuit Claims: Report

Two people were reportedly wrongfully handcuffed during the 2023 incident, according to the lawsuit.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport police and officials are being sued in connection with the botched raid on the wrong home in February 2023, the Connecticut Post reported.

The lawsuit, filed by attorney Robert Berke on behalf of Arelis Vega, claims that officers forcefully entered Vega's Pequonnock Street home, handcuffed her two sons and interrogated them at gunpoint.

Bridgeport police insufficiently filled out a request for a search warrant, the lawsuit claims, which mistakenly included Vega's address as where a suspect may have been residing.
