Bridgeport Ex-Con Pleads Guilty To Gun, Drug Charges
A Bridgeport man with numerous arrests pleaded guilty to illegal weapon possession and drug dealing charges.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport man has pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense, according to a statement from federal prosecutors. Lynwood Cogdell, 32, was previously convicted in 2016 for possession of a firearm by a felon and sentenced to 36 months in prison.
He was released from federal prison in June 2018. On Aug. 10, 2018, he was arrested by Stamford Police after he was found in possession of a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol, and 150 folds of heroin that he intended to distribute.
He was also arrested on April 15, 2019, Cogdell was arrested by Connecticut State Police in Bridgeport after he was found in possession of a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol, and 58 folds of heroin/fentanyl that he intended to distribute, according to the statement.

Cogdell is scheduled to be sentenced on May 5 and faces mandatory term of imprisonment of 10 years and a maximum term of life imprisonment.
