Bridgeport Man Accused Of Sexual Assault On A Minor: U.S. Marshals

The suspect is accused of sexually assaulting the minor in January, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 70-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested by U.S. Marshals and Bridgeport police this week on multiple counts of sexual assault on a minor, according to authorities.

Guadalupe Martinez, 70, was charged with the following:

  • Sexual Assault 1st degree
  • 2 counts of Sexual Assault 3rd degree
  • Sexual Assault 4th degree
  • 4 counts of Risk of Injury to a Child

"The Bridgeport police department initiated an investigation of the sexual assault of a minor in January 2023," wrote Supervisor Deputy Matthew Duffy, of the U.S. Marshals Service, in a statement. "Through this investigation, the Bridgeport police department obtained an arrest warrant for Guadalupe Martinez."

The Bridgeport police requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force in locating and apprehending Martinez, and on Thursday, the Fugitive Task Force and Bridgeport police captured Martinez in the Maplewood Avenue area in Bridgeport.

Additional details of the case were not disclosed. Court records indicated the alleged assaults date back to 2018.

Martinez was released after posting bond on bail of $250,000, and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Dec. 5.
