Bridgeport Man Attempted To Murder Grand Jury Witness: Feds

A Bridgeport man currently serving a prison sentence is accused of attempting to have a grand jury witness murdered.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A city man currently incarcerated has been charged with attempted murder after soliciting other inmates to kill a grand jury witness, according to a statement from federal prosecutors. Vaughn Thomas, aka "Fettiboy LV," 20, was charged with one count of obstructing justice by attempting to kill a witness and one charge of obstructing justice by threatening to engage in conduct intended to cause bodily injury to a witness.

Each charge carries a maximum prison term of 20 years.

Thomas is also accused of writing letters to non-incarcerated individuals instructing them to murder the witness and making phone calls to make sure his instructions were followed.

Thomas has been in state custody since May 15. He appeared recently in Bridgeport Superior Court and entered a plea of not guilty to the charges.

Thomas has been charged in connection with the murder of Dyshon Williams, 19, near the Luis Marin School, The Connecticut Post reported.
