The man attempted to break into a second eatery, but he set off the alarm and was caught, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Bridgeport man burglarized one Fairfield restaurant and attempted to break into another before he was caught, according to police.
Juan Carlos Rax, 28, of Fairfield Avenue, is charged with burglary, criminal attempt to commit burglary, larceny and interfering, Fairfield police said in a Facebook post.
Emergency personnel were notified of an alarm just before 3 a.m. Saturday at Luigi's Restaurant, 170 Post Road, police said. The first officer to arrive saw a man run from the back of the building, jump a fence and continue running behind nearby stores, according to police. Patrols set up a perimeter and a K9 tracked the suspect and found him under a van, police said.
