Bridgeport Man Busted For Assault Rifle Possession: Police
A convicted felon is facing drug and weapon charges following a raid of his home.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A city man was arrested for possessing an arsenal of assault weapons, ammunition, and drugs, according to State Police. Gregory Thompson, 42, of 5 Cowles St. Apt. 23, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of an assault weapon, five counts of illegal possession of a high capacity magazine, criminal possession of ammunition, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
He was held on $500,000 bond and will be arraigned at Bridgeport Superior Court.
Thompson is a convicted felon who had two active arrest warrants for domestic violence. In a raid of his home Monday morning, police recovered $3,810 in cash, numerous Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills, two AK-47-type assault rifles loaded with 30-round magazines, and a pistol with three high-capacity magazines.
