Bridgeport Man Charged in Stamford Stabbing

The stabbing occurred nearly a year ago and DNA evidence led to additional charges for an arrestee, police said.

STAMFORD, CT — Police arrested a Bridgeport man for a Stamford stabbing that occurred in late May 2016.

A 28-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen near Brother Jimmy's BBQ on Bedford Street, according to the Stamford Advocate Taquan McCrae, 22, was charged with disorderly conduct and carrying a dangerous weapon.
Police sent McCrae's knife to the state forensic lab and it came back with DNA from the victim, police said. He was charged with first-degree assault Tuesday.
