Bridgeport Man Pleads Guilty To Attempted Murder Of A Cop: Report
The man faced more than 40 years in prison if convicted on all charges related to the Stamford case, according to the Connecticut Post.
STAMFORD, CT — A Bridgeport man has pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of a Stamford police officer during an undercover drug deal from 2019, according to Hearst Connecticut Media Group.
Lawrence Moore, 24, is expected to be sentenced to 18 years in prison and two years of special parole, Hearst CT reported.
On July 9, 2019, Moore opened fire on police during an undercover operation at a residential complex on Seaton Road, Hearst CT said.

Police were able to find cover and eventually arrest Moore and a passenger. Officers did not return fire, Hearst CT noted.
Along with attempted murder, Moore pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a firearm and possession of narcotics with intent to sell. Moore was facing more than 40 years in prison if convicted on all charges at trial, Hearst CT said, noting that he's already serving a seven-year sentence for a previous violation of probation.
