Bridgeport Man Pleads Guilty In Fentanyl Dealing Case: Feds

A search of the defendant's home led to the discovery of about 1.2 kilograms of fentanyl, cocaine and crack, according to prosecutors.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 31-year-old Bridgeport man pleaded guilty this week in connection with a fentanyl trafficking case, announced United States Attorney Vanessa Roberts Avery.

Kinston Cuthbertson pleaded guilty Monday in New Haven federal court to possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl. He has been in custody since his arrest in May 2022, and is scheduled to be sentenced in October.

According to court documents and statements, a court-authorized search of Cuthbertson’s residence on Waldorf Avenue in Bridgeport in May 2022 revealed approximately 1.2 kilograms of fentanyl; approximately 380 grams of cocaine; a quantity of crack cocaine; items used to process and package narcotics, including a kilogram press; a money counter; and $10,702 in cash.

At his sentencing, Cuthbertson faces a mandatory minimum prison term of 10 years, and a potential maximum term of life in prison.

This investigation is being conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Connecticut State Police’s Statewide Narcotics Task Force Southwest and Statewide Urban Violence Cooperative Crime Control Task Force, and the Bridgeport Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Patricia Stolfi Collins.
