Bridgeport Man Possessed Stolen Guns In Vehicle: Milford Police
Police say one of the stolen guns was located under the feet of a 6-year-old child.

MILFORD, CT — A Bridgeport man was found in possession of two stolen guns in Milford and police say one of the guns was located under the feet of a child, 6. At 11:15 p.m. Thursday, the Milford Police Tactical Narcotics Unit was on anti-crime patrol in the area of Howard Johnsons Hotel, 1052 Boston Post Road, police said.
Detectives noticed suspicious activity in a vehicle driving out of the parking lot, police said. The vehicle was stopped for motor vehicle violations on Boston Post Road near Interstate 95 Exit 39, police said.
The driver was identified as Ismael Mangual, 41, of Wake Street, Bridgeport, police said. A six-year-old child was sitting in the rear seat with no car seat or seat belt on, police said. During the investigation Detectives located two stolen hand guns inside the vehicle, police said. One of the stolen hand guns was located in the rear seat under the feet of the six-year-old child, police said.

The state Department of Children and Families was contacted and took responsibility for the care of the child, police said.

Mangual is being held on $250,000 bond to appear in Milford Court on September 1, 2017.
