Bridgeport Man Sentenced In Federal Fentanyl Distribution Case: U.S. Attorney
The investigation utilized court-authorized wiretaps and physical surveillance, according to prosecutors.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 32-year-old Bridgeport man was sentenced this last week to five years in federal prison, followed by four years of supervised release, for illegally distributing fentanyl, U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan announced.
Christopher Santiago-Rosado was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden to 60 months in prison, after Santiago-Rosado pleaded guilty in November to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl.
According to court documents and statements made in court, a 2024 investigation by the FBI’s Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force and the Bridgeport Police Department targeted an open-air drug market operating near Noble Avenue and Shelton Street in Bridgeport. Between March and September 2024, investigators conducted 11 controlled purchases of narcotics from multiple sellers.

Authorities said the investigation included court-authorized wiretaps and physical surveillance, and determined that Santiago-Rosado and others supplied fentanyl to street-level dealers.
Santiago-Rosado was arrested in connection with the investigation in February 2025.

He remains free on a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to report to prison on March 26.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force, the Bridgeport Police Department and the Stratford Police Department. The task force includes personnel from the FBI, Connecticut State Police and police departments in Bridgeport, Norwalk and Trumbull. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren C. Clark.
