Bridgeport Man Sentenced In Federal Gun Case
Lynwood Cogdell will serve 10 years in federal prison on gun and drug charges.
BRIDGEPORT, CT— A Bridgeport man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for gun and drug offenses, according to a statement from federal prosecutors. Lynwood Cogdell, 32, will also three years of supervised release.
According to the statement, Cogdell was previously sentenced to three years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was released from federal prison in June 2018.
On Aug. 10, 2018, while on supervised release, Cogdell was arrested by Stamford Police after he was found in possession of a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol and 150 folds of heroin that he intended to distribute.

Cogdell was arrested again in April 2019 by State Police in Bridgeport after he was found in possession of a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol and 58 folds of heroin/fentanyl that he intended to distribute, according to the statement.
Earlier this year he pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.
