Bridgeport Man Sentenced To Prison For Role In CT Drug Trafficking Operation: U.S. Attorney
The defendant was one of nearly a dozen suspects arrested in connection with the alleged criminal operation, according to prosecutors.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 52-year-old Bridgeport man was sentenced this week to more than four years in federal prison for his role in an illegal drug trafficking operation that distributed narcotics across southwestern Connecticut, according to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan.
Terrell Wills was sentenced in Hartford by Judge Michael P. Sheato to 54 months in prison followed by four years of supervised release. Wills pleaded guilty in October to conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute cocaine.
According to court records, investigators with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Stamford Police Department identified Rodney Canada as the leader of a drug trafficking organization operating in Stamford and other parts of southwestern Connecticut. Authorities said the group distributed fentanyl, heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine.

A 2024 investigation involving court-authorized wiretaps and controlled drug purchases showed that Canada and others coordinated street-level drug distribution through multiple associates, prosecutors said. Investigators intercepted more than 5,000 phone calls and text messages related to the operation.
Wills, who previously lived in Darien, was described by prosecutors as a trusted associate of Canada who primarily distributed cocaine. Authorities said he also handled cash for the organization and served as an intermediary between Canada and other drug sellers.

Wills, Canada and several other defendants were arrested on May 14, 2024. On the same day, law enforcement officers executed search warrants at locations in Stamford, Norwalk, Bridgeport and Darien, seizing about three kilograms of cocaine, nearly 400 grams of raw fentanyl, more than 500 bags of fentanyl, five firearms, a bulletproof vest and seven vehicles, according to court documents.
Prosecutors said Wills' criminal history spans roughly three decades and includes a 2014 federal drug trafficking conviction that resulted in a 48-month prison sentence.
Wills, who has been free on a $150,000 bond, is scheduled to report to prison on April 24.
Canada also pleaded guilty and was sentenced on Dec. 15, 2025, to 110 months in prison.
The investigation involved the DEA task force, Stamford Police, Bridgeport Police and the U.S. Marshals Service, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Connecticut State Police and police departments in Norwalk, Danbury and Darien. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Patricia Stolfi Collins and Geoffrey M. Stone.
