Bridgeport Man Stabbed Co-Worker’s Boyfriend In Home Invasion: Stratford Police

The suspect is accused of entering the woman's home through a bedroom window and stabbing the man before fleeing on a bicycle.

STRATFORD, CT — A Bridgeport man is accused of stabbing a co-worker’s boyfriend during a home invasion in Stratford, according to police. The incident occurred on Oct. 2 in the 100 block of Hollister Street in Stratford when police say Juan Santiago, 22, arrived unannounced at a co-worker’s home for an unknown reason.

Santiago was not invited into the home and eventually climbed through a bedroom window of the residence, according to Capt. Frank Eannotti. The female homeowner and her boyfriend confronted Santiago, who was armed with a knife and eventually stabbed the male victim, Eannotti said.

Santiago is also accused of hitting the female resident/co-worker before fleeing the area on a bicycle.

Santiago was located and arrested by Stratford Police officers on Stratford Avenue in Bridgeport. The knife used in the assault was located along the side of the road on Hollister where Santiago discarded it as he fled, according to Eannotti.

The male victim was treated for non-life threatening stab wounds to his torso and hand at Bridgeport Hospital, Eannotti said.

Santiago was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, first-degree assault, disorderly conduct and home invasion.

Santiago was held on a $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on Oct. 9.
