Bridgeport Man Hospitalized After Being Shot In Neck, Cops Say
The shooting occurred Wednesday night near Wood and Park avenues in Bridgeport, according to authorities.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 23-year-old Bridgeport man was shot in the neck during a shooting in Bridgeport Wednesday night, in which police said more than 20 gunshots were fired.
The incident occurred at about 10:50 p.m. near Wood and Park avenues, when Bridgeport police received reports of the victim suffering a gunshot wound. At the same time, the department also received ShotSpotter notifications in the area that more than 20 gunshots had been fired.
Officers were dispatched to Park Avenue, but the victim was taken to an area hospital by a private vehicle. He suffered a single gunshot wound in the neck, and is listed in stable condition, according to police.

Bridgeport police detectives have collected "several items of evidence" from the crime scene, and they are actively investigating the shooting.
