Bridgeport Man Wounded In Shooting, Cops Say

The shooting occurred Monday night on Park Avenue in Bridgeport.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 24-year-old Bridgeport man suffered multiple gunshot wounds Monday in a shooting in the 1200 block of Park Avenue in Bridgeport, according to police.

The victim, who was driven to an area hospital privately following the 8:40 p.m. shooting, was listed in stable condition, said Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran in a statement.

Police were notified of the shooting by a ShotSpotter activation and calls to the department by citizens. ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system.

The department's Detective Bureau is overseeing the investigation, which included processing a crime scene that included the Gulf Gas Station at the intersection of Park and Wood avenues.

"Multiple items of evidence were located" Gilleran said, adding that detectives interviewed several people in the case. "Those items have been collected and processed by the Police Department’s Forensic Identification Unit."
