Bridgeport Men Arrested On Drug Charges After Traffic Stop In Fairfield: Police
K-9 Jagger alerted police to the narcotics, leading to the seizure of marijuana and ecstasy and the arrest of two men.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Two Bridgeport men were arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop in Fairfield on Thursday afternoon. K-9 Jagger alerted police to narcotics inside vehicle, resulting in the seizure of marijuana and ecstasy and the arrest of the two men.
At about 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 7, Fairfield officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Commerce Drive near Coolidge Street for a misuse of a registration plate, according to Lt. Robert Kalamaras.
“During the routine traffic stop for motor vehicle charges, K-9 Jagger conducted an air scent on the exterior of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of a narcotic odor on the driver door seam,” Kalamaras wrote in a press release. “A subsequent search of the interior resulted in K-9 Jagger alerting that there were narcotics inside the vehicle.”

Officers seized an undisclosed amount of marijuana and ecstasy from the driver, and a small amount of marijuana from the passenger.

The driver, Freddie M. Jackson, 31, of Washington Avenue in Bridgeport, was arrested for possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana and several motor vehicle charges.

The passenger, Vincent Ambrose Derr, 30, of Iranistan Avenue in Bridgeport, was issued a citation for possession of marijuana. Both were released at the scene.
