A woman and her daughter, 12, were arrested after an incident that began when a clerk locked them in a store for allegedly shoplifting.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Bridgeport mother and her 12-year-old daughter were arrested after allegedly causing $2,000 worth of damage at the 7-Eleven at 3232 Post Road in Fairfield by kicking out the glass doors after the clerk locked them inside the store because he suspected them of shoplifting, according to multiple reports. The 12-year-old girl is also accused of using a stun gun on the clerk during the incident.
It all began around 8 p.m. on Sunday when the clerk locked the pair in the store and called police because he suspect them of stealing Red Bull. The clerk told police that the pair had become friendly with him during previous visits but he noticed that his inventory of Red Bull was always short after they were at the store, according to the Connecticut Post.
The Post reports that surveillance video allegedly showed the suspects taking cans of Red Bull on two other occasions in July.
