Bridgeport Murder Suspect to be Extradited to CT: Report

Police issued a nationwide Amber alert for the suspect's daughter after he kidnapped her.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A man accused of killing his estranged wife and kidnapping his six-year-old daughter will be extradited back to Connecticut, reports News 12.

Oscar Hernandez, 39, will be brought back to Bridgeport by local police after he was arrested in Pennsylvania in February following a high-speed chase. Aylin Sofia Hernandez, 6, of Bridgeport was taken by her father after he fatally stabbed his estranged wife Nidia Gonzalez, 26, of Bridgeport, police said.

A Pennslyvania State Police trooper spotted Hernandez's vehicle and engaged police in a pursuit. He was taken into custody after his vehicle crashed. A few police officers, Hernandez and his daughter sustained minor injuries.

Hernandez is due to be arraigned in Bridgeport Monday and is being held on a $1.5 million bond.
