Bridgeport One of Few Getting More State Bucks Under Malloy Plan
But Bridgeport is one of a handful of municipalities that will actually be getting a few more state dollars than previously allocated.

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The bad news keeps coming for Connecticut municipalities as the state attempts to claw out from under its budget mess.
Under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's revised, proposed adjustments to the fiscal year 2019 budget previously adopted by the legislature state municipal aid would be cut nearly $100 million - both in the education and non-education side.
But the news is good for a few cities - including Bridgeport, where under Malloy's most recent plan the city would receive $173,528 more than previously allocated for 2019. Previously Bridgeport was slated to get $210.9 million; now, $211.1 million.
