Bridgeport PD Lieutenant Suspended As Part Of Cheating Probe: Report
The lieutenant is linked to the department's cheating scandal that brought down former Police Chief Armando Perez.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport Police Lt. Brian Dickerson has been suspended for 10 days without pay in connection with the cheating scandal that brought down former Police Chief Armando Perez, reported the Connecticut Post.
Following a lengthy investigation, Dickerson was found to have violated nearly a half-dozen department rules and regulations, including violating the department's code of ethics.
Dickerson was accused of helping Perez cheat on the 2018 police chief search. Perez, who was arrested in the case, was also accused of lying to federal agents about the scheme.

Perez pleaded guilty in the case and was sentenced in 2021 to 12 months and a day in prison.
According to the publication, Dickerson's suspension will not remove him from consideration of a possible promotion to captain.
