Bridgeport PD Searches For Suspect Who Pickpocketed Lottery Winnings

The suspect is accused of stealing $500 in lottery winnings from an elderly victim, according to Bridgeport police.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A female suspect is accused of pickpocketing $500 in lottery winnings from an elderly man in Bridgeport on July 4, and police are asking for the public's help in finding her.

"The suspect passed the victim as he was leaving the Gulf Express gas station at 1598 Capitol Ave. on July 4th, and stole his wallet containing several hundred dollars in lottery winnings out of his back pants pocket," said Bridgeport Police Det. Jeffrey Holtz in a statement.

The female suspect held the door open for the victim, and then stole the wallet as he was exiting.

She then fled the scene in a red 2011-2016 Hyundai Elantra, which was driven by a bald man, according to Holtz. See surveillance photos above.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Bridgeport Police Sgt. Pat Feola, of the department's Robbery Squad, at 203-581-5218. All tips will be kept confidential.
