Bridgeport and State Police Arrest Two for Weapons, Narcotics: Report
Arrests followed an investigation into information about members of the West Side Boys, a subset of the bloods street gang.

BRIDGEPORT, CT – State police and Bridgeport police deceives made two arrests Monday as a result of an investigation into information concerning members of a gang.
Police said on Facebook the Connecticut State Police Gang Unit served a Search and Seizure Warrant at a Capitol Avenue residence.
The warrant was obtained as a result of an investigation into information that members of a subset of the bloods street gang called the "West Side Boys" were selling narcotics from the residence. The location had also allegedly been used to hide firearms.

Detectives noticed Bryan Yang, 21, attempting to enter his vehicle when they approached the residence. Police said he then removed a semi-automatic handgun from his waistband when approached.
Detectives immediately gained control of Yang and the handgun before anyone was hurt. Police said the handgun was was fully loaded and Yang did not have a weapons permit.

After searching the residence, detectives located another handgun that had previously been reported stolen during a Bridgeport burglary. The gun was found in the living area of Miguel Maldonado, 20, who lives in the attic.
Detectives located a small marijuana grow operation and evidence that he was packaging marijuana for sale in Maldonado's room, along with over 2000 rounds of ammunition. Yang and Maldonado were both arrested and held on bond pending their Tuesday court date.
