Bridgeport Teens In Stolen Car Arrested In Darien: Police
Two Hondas reported stolen in Stamford were recovered.

DARIEN, CT — Two Bridgeport 16-year-olds were arrested on larceny charges early Tuesday in Darien after police discovered the car they were driving had been reported stolen out of Stamford, according to authorities.
Because of their age, the two suspects' identities were not released. But in addition to two counts each of third-degree larceny, both were also charged with interfering with an officer for first giving police false names.
The incident began at about 3:40 a.m. when an officer spotted three vehicles turn from the Post Road onto Salt Box Lane.

"Given the recent rash of motor vehicle burglaries and the fact that Salt Box Lane is a small, dead-end street, the officer followed the vehicles for further investigation," wrote Darien police in a statement. "As the officer approached the three vehicles, one of them, a black Honda Civic, made a sudden U-turn and went back onto the Post Road. The officer stopped that vehicle, and determined the vehicle’s registration to be expired.
"Both the driver and passenger of the vehicle were extremely uncooperative and gave several false-identities. Due to their inability to identify the two subjects, they were detained and brought to headquarters. The officers believed the two suspects may be juveniles, and a Youth Detective was requested to respond."

Additional officers were called to the area, and another of the three vehicles, a silver Honda Civic, was found abandoned in the middle of Salt Box Lane, and officers discovered it had been reported as stolen out of Stamford. The third vehicle was not located, but police also discovered that the black Honda Civic that the two teens were in was also stolen out of Stamford.
Both juveniles were issued juvenile summonses for the above mentioned charges, and they are scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Juvenile Court on Sept. 1.
