Bridgeport Man Arrested In Alleged Stratford Motel Rape: Report

The incident occurred Tuesday and police have made an arrest.

STRATFORD, CT — A 21-year-old Bridgeport man has been arrested and charged with first-degree sexual assault in connection with the alleged rape of a Bridgeport woman in a Stratford motel, reports the Connecticut Post.

According to police, the incident occurred Tuesday at the Stratford Motor Inn, where the woman had checked in. Joseph Safilo, an acquaintance, later showed up uninvited and refused to leave, according to police.

He is alleged to have raped the woman in her room. Safilo was held in lieu of a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
