Bridgeport Woman Shoplifted from AC Moore, Gave Police Fake Name: Orange Police

Police said close to $500 worth of merchandise was taken from the store.

ORANGE, CT — Police say a Bridgeport woman is accused of stealing close to $500 worth of merchandise from AC Moore.

Officers responded to the AC Moore store for a reported shoplifting incident on Dec. 22, police said. Officers learned that the arrestee, Sharifa Burnett, 31, of Bridgeport, had taken various merchandise valued at a total of $480 out of the store without paying for it, police said.

During the investigation, the arrestee tried to give officers a fake name, police said. She was subsequently taken into custody and charged with sixth-degree larceny and interfering with an officer.

She was released after posting a $500 bond.
