Bridgeport Woman Tried To Cash Forged Check At Bank In Milford: Police

Police said the account had been linked to fraudulent activity in the past.

MILFORD, CT — Police said a Bridgeport woman is accused of trying to cash forged checks at a local bank in Milford. Police said on May 12 officers responded to People's United Bank, 190 Broad Street, on a report of an attempted forgery.

Investigation led to the arrest of Tanise Tapper, 21, of Lincoln Avenue in Bridgeport, who is accused of attempting to cash a check in the amount of $523, police said, at the branch from a closed account, which had been linked to fraudulent activity in the past.

She is charged with fifth-degree larceny, first-degree forgery and criminal attempt to commit fifth-degree larceny. She was released on a promise to appear in Superior Court, Milford on June 6.
