About Us

The Glass House is a renowned historical museum and architectural modernist landmark located in New Canaan, Connecticut. As a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the 49-acre site offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the iconic residence and grounds designed by architect Philip Johnson. All tours originate from the Visitor Center and Design Store at 199 Elm Street, serving as the gateway to this significant cultural destination.

The site provides a variety of experiences, including guided, self-guided, private, and group tours that showcase the Glass House, Brick House, Painting and Sculpture Galleries, follies, outdoor sculptures, and the surrounding 49-acre landscape. Visitors can choose from diverse options ranging from concise one-hour tours to comprehensive, in-depth explorations of the campus. The museum also features a digital guide through Bloomberg Connects to enhance the educational experience for all guests.

Advance reservations are required. The tour season runs April 15th - December 14th, 2026, Open Thursday - Monday, Closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
