Child, 2, Drowns In Pool In Bridgeport: Report
The child was rushed to the hospital where he later died, police say.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Tragic news to share. A two-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool on Charon Street around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, according to media reports including WTNH News 8. The child was pulled from the pool and rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, the Connecticut Post reports.
Police vehicles led the ambulance on the way to the hospital. The child's name has not yet been released. The accident is under investigation.
Bridgeport spokesperson Av Harris told Fox 61 that attempts to resuscitate the child at the scene were unsuccessful. News 12 CT says that there was a pool party and the adults believed the child was being watched but they soon discovered he was missing. The boy's mother was present, News 12 reports.

This is the second time this year that a young child has drowned in a pool in Connecticut. On July 2, a 5-year-old child drowned in a pool in Stratford on Sunnybank Avenue.
