Breast Cancer Survivors/City Council Members Honored on 10/11
Michelle Lyons and Denese Taylor-Moye to be feted by Council President Tom McCarthy

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, local residents are invited to the American Cancer Society's Happy Hour for Hope to benefit Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Bridgeport, which will be held at Milano Wine Bar & Pizzeria in Downtown Bridgeport on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, from 5:30 PM to 8 PM. Live entertainment will be provided by The Lionfish, a blues & funk band. A donation, of $20, per person, includes a selection of delicious Italian appetizers from Milano chef/owner Freddy Tomaj and other samplings.
Breast cancer survivors City Council Members Michelle Lyons and Denese Taylor-Moye will be honored by Council President Tom McCarthy. Guest bartenders, at this event, will include McCarthy; State Representative Steve Stafstrom; State Representative Christopher Rosario and Trumbull Planning & Zoning Commissioner Fred Garrity Jr. These prominent local men are taking a stand, against breast cancer, to support Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Bridgeport.
Chef Freddy said, "Milano is a family restaurant and we know how cancer affects families so we are so pleased to be hosting this upcoming Happy Hour for Hope and to help raise funds that will benefit families impacted by breast cancer in Greater Bridgeport. We look forward to welcoming our regular patrons and to meeting new friends."

Attendees are asked to please wear something pink, to this festive party -- there will be prizes for the "pinkest" man, woman, and couple. There will also be a drawing, for gift certificates from local businesses, including several gift certificates for dinner at Milano.

Since 1993, over 12 million people have raised over $750 million by participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign. The money, that is raised, has helped the American Cancer Society to ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone, by funding innovative breast cancer research; promoting education and risk reduction strategies; and providing patient support.
