Community Mourns After Death Of Beloved Bridgeport Baseball Coach
Danny Quarante, who coached Little League in the city, died Saturday at the age of 46.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Danny Quarante, a beloved Bridgeport Little League baseball coach, died suddenly on Saturday, and the community is mourning his loss.
Coach Danny, as he was called, died from complications from sleep apnea, his wife, Carrie Anne Quarante, told News 12 Connecticut.
He was scheduled to coach a North End Little League game that day, and according to the station, one of the city's baseball fields will be named after him.

A GoFundMe page has been established to assist Quarante's family, and as of Friday, it had raised more than $8,100 toward a goal of $30,000.
"We are all beyond devastated and shocked with the loss of Danny," wrote Alexandra Alcala, who organized the GoFundMe effort. "He was so loved by so many. A person like Danny is rare to come across. He was selfless, kind, funny, loving. He dedicated his time to his family, his wife and the kids at baseball. A coach who treated the kids as if they were his own."

In addition to his wife, Quarante also leaves behind twin sons, Chase and Aidan.
"Let’s come together as Danny’s family and help his wife and kids pull through this difficult time," Alcala wrote. "We ask that everyone keep them in prayers as well. Rest in paradise Coach Danny you will truly wholeheartedly be missed."
