Connecticut Police Officer's Teary-Eyed Reaction to Baby's Death Leads to Powerful Response
Embedded video journalists from an A&E television show captured the officer's emotional reaction to the baby's death this weekend.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A police officer’s emotional response when discussing the death of a 1-year-old child and the impact it had on him and his fellow police officers has gone viral.
Bridgeport Police Sgt. Chris Robinson, responded to the heartbreaking call late Friday, and he was accompanied by Live PD producers. Live PD is a television show that airs on A&E Friday nights.
The show, according to its website, “offers viewers unfettered and unfiltered live access inside the country’s busiest police forces and the communities they patrol in the new documentary series Live PD.”

Cameras were rolling when Robinson and Bridgeport police officers responded to a residence in their city Friday, the Connecticut Post reports.
No foul play is suspected in the baby’s death and it appears the child died as a result of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, the Post reports.

Camera captured Robinson becoming emotional when he said, “These are the calls that just...they get to you.”
In the video, according to the Post, Robinson details similar tragic calls he and other officers responded to and the lasting impact it has on them.
“It’s horrible ... it’s right around Christmas, and these kids lose their sibling and the parents they lose their baby. And you know, the medics are trying to do everything they can,” Robinson said, according to the CT Post.
On social media, Robinson’s emotional comments went viral as numerous people expressed admiration for his compassion.
