Connecticut Primary Election In Bridgeport Tuesday
Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Only registered Democrats and Republicans are eligible to vote.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Tuesday is primary day in Connecticut, as registered Democrats and Republicans throughout the state will decide candidates for this fall's election.
Polls open and close at the usual times, 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Connecticut is a closed primary state, meaning only registered Republicans and Democrats can vote in their respective races.

On the ballot in Bridgeport on the Democrats side are races for candidates for several positions.
For Secretary of State, the race is between Stephanie Thomas and Maritza Bond; for state Treasurer, the contest is between Erick Russell, Dita Bhargava and Karen DuBois-Walton.
The Democratic winner of the Secretary of State race will face the winner of the Republican race between Dominic Rapini, Brock Weber and Terrie E. Wood.
In the general election for Treasurer, the Democratic winner will face Republican Harry Arora.
Additionally, Bridgeport Democrats will have choices to make in several state Senate and state Representative races, depending on district.
In the 127th Representative District, Democrats will choose between Marcus Brown and Jack Hennessey.
For state Senate in the 23rd District, Democrats will choose between Herron Gaston and Dennis Bradley.
Bridgeport Republicans will have choices in three races on their ballots on Tuesday.
There is the race for candidate for U.S. Senate between Themis Klarides, Leora R. Levy and Peter Lumaj. The winner will oppose incumbent Democrat Richard Blumenthal.
Also, there is the race for the Republican candidate for U.S. Representative in the 4th Congressional District between Jayme Stevenson and Michael Ted Goldstein. The winner will face incumbent Democrat Jim Himes.
And finally, there is the race for the GOP candidate for Secretary of State between Rapini, Weber and Wood. The winner will face the winner of the Thomas/Bond race.
