Details Released In Shooting Of Stratford Teen In Bridgeport
The 17-year-old was dropped off at a local hospital following the Saturday night shooting.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — The 17-year-old Stratford teen, who was shot multiple times in Bridgeport Saturday night, was able to walk into a local hospital after being dropped off nearby, according to Bridgeport police.
The identity of the teenager was not released, but the gunshot wounds he suffered are not considered to be a threat to his life.
Bridgeport police first learned of the shooting at about 6:40 p.m. via a ShotSpotter activation, a gunshot detection system in which authorities are alerted within 1 minute of shots fired at a location.

The shooting occurred near the intersection of Stratford and Wilmot avenues, and in additon to the ShotSpotter notification, the department also received multiple calls from citizens in the East End reporting they heard 10 to 11 gunshots in the area.
"At approximately 6:50 pm a 17-year-old Stratford CT teenager walked into a local hospital suffering from multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds," police wrote in a statement. "He has been admitted into the hospital. The victim was dropped off near the hospital by private vehicle."

The Bridgeport police detectives are investigating the shooting, and discovered the crime scene on Stratford Avenue where evidence was collected.
