Employee Sold Cocaine At Rehab Facility: Feds
A Bridgeport man has been sentenced for selling cocaine outside the rehab facility where he worked, according to federal prosecutors.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A man accused of distributing cocaine and violating conditions of his probation was sentenced recently to three years in prison, according to a statement from federal prosecutors. Ramon Hernandez, 61, was on federal supervised release when he sold cocaine near drug rehabilitation facility where he worked.
Investigators conducted multiple controlled purchases of cocaine from Hernandez near that facility. On Feb. 13, Hernandez was arrested after he possessed and intended to distribute more than 250 grams of cocaine, according to the statement.
Hernandez has been detained since his arrest.

In March 2006, Hernandez was sentenced in Bridgeport federal court to 84 months of imprisonment and 10 years of supervised release for his role in a cocaine trafficking ring. He was released from federal prison in August 2011.
This matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force and Bridgeport Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Maria del Pilar Gonzalez.
