Fire Displaces Residents Of Damaged Bridgeport Apartment Building: FD

The Wednesday night fire occurred on East Main Street.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A fire in the rear of an apartment building on East Main Street in Bridgeport this week damaged the structure, and left the residents temporarily displaced, according to fire officials.

No injuries were reported in the Wednesday night fire at 484 East Main St., and the blaze was contained to the rear porches and roof area of the three-story building, fire officials wrote in a Facebook post (see below).

Fire officials initially said seven people were displaced and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross, but News 12 Connecticut put the number at 18 displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
