Fire Reported At Bridgeport Transfer Station
The cause of the Asylum Street blaze is under investigation.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Firefighters extinguished a fire at the Bridgeport Transfer Station on Asylum Street on Thursday afternoon, according to authorities.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, which was called in at about 12:45 p.m.
The fire was in the transfer station's pit, and was brought under control in about 25 minutes.

In addition to Bridgeport firefighters, members of the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the gas company also responded.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Bridgeport Fire Marshal's Office.
